I can relate.
Some seem like quiet types, until you bring up the one thing they're interested in.
Totally like me. I've been in a college class for the past three months without saying a word to anyone unless they talked to me first and yesterday one of my classmates brought up yoga and I did like 'The Dramatic Chipmunk' meme turn and asked, "Did you just say 'yoga?'"
@snowblinded: Exactly. I had the same situation in my freshman Psych class, until I saw someone reading a comic. We hit it off, and, long story short, I've been in the college anime club, Animania, ever since.
Total turnover in demeanor - right on! Yep, you'd predicted my reaction a mile away.
I trust the poster dilemma went well, and without a hitch?
Aw that is so cute how he just got real excited. Can't tell if that hover note you put a few pages ago is true or not...was this supposed to be fantasy? I'm dumbles. aslo yes that's just so cute. yes.
ps. I wanna be in a club called Anamania! (sadface)
@Le9: Eh...not really. Due to work constraints, I've tentatively decided to postpone the poster.
However, the reason I started making the posters in the first place was because I wanted to do my part in raising LGBT awareness, during a time when this comic hadn't quite gotten fully started. Now that that is no longer the case, I think GTWRAJ is an acceptable substitute in the meantime.
Also, yep, quite the 180 there. There are two things Jay has always enjoyed--off color humor and cooking. Some extra stuff gets added on in the years leading to his present 15-year-old self.
@anime8snowman: Nah, I was just joking. Actually, I first thought up the main teenage characters from GTWRAJ as part of a group of heroes in a sci-fi action adventure story. My current headcanon is that that is an AU story.
About Animania: you might not be able to be a full staff member, but you can visit our site (www.umichanime.com), sign up for newsletters, and maybe even come to our free public events. We have 6-hour anime screenings every month, and a full scale convention called Con Ja Nai in February. Everything's currently hosted on the University of Michigan campus.
As an example of the types of stuff we have, we'll be showing Daily Lives of High School Boys, Hell Girl, Attack on Titan and Deadman Wonderland for our screening tomorrow.
Damnit Jay is getting cuter by the panel...or I'm getting really tired...or both...
